Her homework is very easy if you are the introspective type. Her tests are a bit tricky, all being multiple choice, but the final grade comes from projects, book reports, papers and tests. I would definately recommend her.

Warm, interesting teacher

Mr. Jung obviously loves philosophy and encourages student discussion about the various philosophical schools that are covered. He explains concepts well using extended examples of things that are concrete and is patient with students who don't get them on the first go. He has a warm personality that is very likeable.

Great, but soon to be gone!

Mr. Lockwood is a wonderful teacher. He's enthusiastic about writing and has taught for nearly 36 years. His eyes still sparkle when he lectures, even after all this time. Class is graded on journal passage, reading journals, and an 18 page manuscript due in the last week of classes. He meets individually with students to discuss their work, and knows what he's talking about. Unfortunately for GRCC students, he will retire in spring of 2001.

You could do better

Ths class, which is required, wasn't terribly difficult. Government is a dry subject; however, Mr. Bai did little to make ir more palatable. Worse, he is originally from China, and his English is sometimes difficult to understand. His sentences are punctuated with ums and paragraphs with something that sounds like a cross between right and yeah. One thing that some students liked, but I didn't particularly care for was his use of open book tests. On the plus side, he was very nice, which some of the students took advantage of, i.e. they didn't shut up when he was trying to start the class.
