This is uncommon at SCSU but should be a requirement to teach Computer Science. He conducts himself professionally, even when he uses sarcasm (appreciating his wit may be a survival skill). He often shares elements of his current research with the class and relates the class material to his work. These qualities make his classes an excellent investment; pay attention and you will learn. However, it is possible that he may seem arrogant or inaccessable to some. My advice: Learning is not for the faint of heart.

Challenging, thought provoking, fair.

Professor Schmidt is tough but fair. She is an adjunct professor brought in to teach film classes. She has a lot of good information but her delivery needs work. It took our class most of the semester to figure out what she was trying to teach us. The more she tried to explain herself the more confusing it got. As the semester progressed she started making more sense and the class had a better flow but by then it was almost too late to get caught up.
Her assignments aren't terribly hard once you understand what she wants. And she's a fun person to talk with outside of the class setting. I would consider taking her again since I did get an "A" in the class, but I would think about it first.

A Great Teacher

This professor is good at teaching VB. Although no programming methodology is taught, VB does not require a good programming methodology.
