Although he tends to stray from the subject. We hardly ever talked about the stories we were assigned. You can pretty much not go to class unless you are worried about your attendence grade. It is an easy class. I would however not recommond this class at all. It is the hardest class i have ever taken. There is an extreme amount of homework including writeups and papers. It is definitely harder than an introduction to stats. Try to find another teacher if you can for this subject. Sometimes her choice in the text that we were supposed to read was a little suspect (Stuff that we already know like that men and women talk differently, and that culture influences your attitude toward others) and her grading on the tests were ok. I took it as a freshman, and do not suggest making that mistake. Professor Byman is very different and is hard to get used to. He's harsh and often vulgar, but he's very smart. This class can be incredibly offensive if you are strongly religious, as it attacks all of your beliefs.
