I expected to be completely confused, since I could barely operate our home computer. The thorough step-by-step approach Mr. Jeter used helped me become proficient in windows, spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations and able to navigate the web. This class is the reason I was successful in subsequent classes; enabling me to develop excellent, visual presentations.

Mr. Jeter has several other masters degrees including Criminal Justice, Sociology and History. He is a very easy-going person, always has time to explain the subject matter and is a great encourager. He is the main reason we continued our enrollment at Columbia College, Lake Ozark extension, instead of transferring. Mr. Jeter has devoted hours to the success of the students at Columbia College's Lake Ozark extension and is deserving of our highest accolades.

I never had it in high school and have always found math a very daunting subject. My husband never understood algebra until he took Mr. Hamner's classes. He took Beginning through College Algebra and highly recommended Mr. Hamner to me. I had Mr. Hamner for Beginning Algebra and currently for Intermediate Algebra. I would highly recommend taking his algebra classes.

Mr. Hamner is one of the great teachers still left; he cares about his students' success. He has dealt with dyslexia in his own life and understands the challenges. He speaks in layman's terms, making algebra understandable and uses 'gambling' to deal with negative and positive numbers, making them easier to work with. He shows applications where algebra is used in everyday life. Mr. Hamner is a Stanford graduate who has sat under some of the best mathmeticians, yet is very down-to-earth.

Mr. Hamner takes the mystery out of math and always has time to explain how to work the problems. He is available an hour before tests to answer your questions and never makes you feel dumb for asking. He also encourages questions during class.

Grading is done through four tests of 100 points each. He gives partial credit if the answer isn't totally accurate and allows the use of furmulas during tests. (no pre-worked problems) There is no homework per se, but practice problems which he 'goes over' at the next class, if you need help with them.
