He is a likable guy. The class has a lot of work. He does a good job of reducing the amount of work if it is rediculous. The class kicks your butt, and he softens the blow. He really looks out for your best interests both in the class and longterm. He helps you become a better writer.

Hard, but good

Dr. Cherney is an excellent teacher. His tests and lab exams are extremely difficult, but not impossible. You will learn more than you thought possible in one semester, if you are willing to be challenged. He also grades on a nice curve.

Great class and prof!

Bill is a great teacher who takes a personal interest in you as a person as you explore art in a way you never though possible. He takes a great personal interest in all his students and creates an atmosphere where you want to learn and feel like you can. It is a challenging class that requires a lot of work, but it is definitely worth it.

The worst of the worst.

Dr.Daniel C. Elliott is a complete idiot. His egotism and playing favorites in the classroom is utterly unbearable. His demeanor lacks any kind of formal professionalism and requires you to 'brown-nose' to get anywhere with him. He places you in his 'criteria' and if you don't fit his mold, he disregards you on a personal as well as a professional level. It is very disheartening to see how someone of his level at the university can disregard your reasons, motivations, skills, and professionalism just because he dislikes you. For whatever reasons he feels so superior to judge students are his own, but they are certainly not fair nor warranted. Hard work on all of his 'projects' are not enough, although I did receive an 'A' in the course- this was due to my own work ethic despite this 'professor's' lack of any real teaching. I am not bitter that I felt like I was not a part of this class, I resent the fact that 'politics' in this classroom, at any level(graduate or otherwise), is necessary just to receive an education, not to mention the disregard for one's reasons, and motivations to become a teacher and/or administrator. Teaching is a labor of love, filled with many ups and downs, and to be inspired by fellow teachers/administrators should be fostered and not ignored. Dr.Elliott's personal agendas need to be placed out of the profession know as teaching, especially at the university level. He disgusts me with his demeanor and methods of 'instruction'. Competition is his worst fear, and placing himself at the top of the heap only shows his fear, this man needs to find a different line of work.
