He has read practicly every book dealing with the subject so he will be able to answer any question you have. I am a student who is no longer at CSU, Chico. I had Professor Sorsby four years ago and I must say that it was because of her that I thought I would go on and major in French.

Such as the case I am at a community college as a music major and did not pass second-semester French.

Sorsby is very nice and you'll probably want to go on and take more French classes with her if you take one of her beginning-level language classes.

Great teacher!

An excellent teacher. His class lectures follow online lecture notes closely, and he provides additional outlining as he goes so it is easy to keep notes on what he is presenting. His anecdotes add to the material and are on point, they do not ramble and waste class time. He makes time to answer questions, and those answers are also closely on-topic.

This class is moderately intensive with reading, and he gives a weekly quiz that is intended as a checkpoint to ensure students are keeping up with the textbook reading. If you are, you won't have a problem with the quizes. He expects papers and essays to conform to proper academic standards (including citations, etc); I think his appraoch is instructional for students who have not yet mastered writing at the university level. For those who already have this skill set, he seems to recognize and appreciate collegiate-level writing.

I found Tony's class to be informative and interesting. He is a truly excellent *teacher* (such a rarity), and I am seeking out classes of his so that I can take more instruction specifically from him in the future. I highly recommend him. You have to show up and do the work to get a good grade in his classes, but the return on your investment is definitely worth it.

Argued that he would give a student that received %69 a D rather than a C- out of procedure, regardless of how he felt the student knew the material. . He started only to use the board and overhead projectors to write codes only toward the end of the semester. Before that, his lecture were awfully dry and hard to understand by the use of slide shows.

His tests are hard and often times are way too long. In fact, his very first few quizzes covered stuff that was totally irrelevant and not taught in class nor was it in the book.

He goes very fast and has very little patience in his office hours and during lectures as well. Over all, one gets the impression he is a show off, though no doubt he knows his stuff.

Be prepared that he has plentiful of programming assignments which will take up time. And do read the book.

She behaves like she has too many things to cover and having not enough time; it may be true that the class covers a lot of things. Perhaps she needs to think more about how students can learn. For example, she should teach differently when she knows that she the students won't have time to even take notes.
But she is very supportive to her students. She always welcome students to help learning. She treats all the students fairly. Her grading is also good; however, it may not be easy to complete exams because of lack of time.

A good instructor

He may be retiring so you may not be able to take his class.
Overall performance of his class is a ok. I can not say tbat he is the best instructor because of insufficient performance of teaching to the students who are having problems with understanding materials; if a student does not understand and goes to talk to him, his face changes and behave like he is very reluctant to talk and also often try to avoid contact by looking at the other side and start using his computer.
He is a ok instructor who can help you gain good grades. Because he accepts late assignments and also does not take attendance, some students like him.

A somewhat ok instructor

Organization and lack of planning may be the problem.
Some students like him; however, some students don't like him a lot.
For example, when he is talking about certain concepts, he starts talking about related subject to what he is talking about that just comes into his mind, which makes his lecture hard to organize and also hard to take notes.
Another example, he often does not have an idea of planning. Buying a textbook can be waste of money because he may not use it at all.
However, the instructor is kind and somewhat understanding.
As an advice, when you take a class, review his sample exams very well. Doing that may let you have a good grade.

Another horrible teacher.

This guy shows off.
