This course had alot of poetry. Each class session was started with reading poetry. Most of it was dark, gloomy, depressing and morbid. Other than that, the journal writing was fun, the exams weren't hard and the guy is a great speaker. The essay topics were challenging and his critiques were well explained. It was impossible to speak to him outside of the classroom and messages weren't returned. I give him a B plus.

Not very knowledgable.

She is an adjunct instructor from Grayson. She would yell at students for asking questions in class. She appeared to have little knowledge of the software she was supposed to be using for instruction. She showed favoritism to certain students and when those students entered the room, her speech changed to a flirtacious form of ebonics. Very frustrating course. I believe she needs to reevaluate her teaching morals and learn the subject before stepping in front of the students.

Not bac, needs work.

This instructor is also a lawyer. He loves to argue and he also knows how to make you feel inadequate. There was no syllabus, or exams. The entire course was based on speaking. He was notorious for assigning a subject that the student was uncomfortable with. He also acted more like a college student instead of an instructor. I give him a B minus because he lacks personal skills and needs to adjust his attitude. If you like not knowing what your grade is until your report is sent from the registrar, this one is for you.

Outstanding!

This instructor obviously loves to teach this course. He is very knowledgable. He speaks clearly and with words that are understandable. His enthusiasm is catchy. He presents study guides for testing and no catches. What's on the guide is what's on the test. It may be worded differently on the test. He allows an index card of notes for exams stating that this only reinforces the knowledge of the material by rewriting it onto the card. He's right. You will work hard and study hard in his class but you will come out with an education on Biology. If I could give higher than an A plus I would.

The Big Johnson of Education

I don't know what the other brain-dead idiot who reviewed Johnson was thinking when he wrote his review, but clearly he's on crack. Mr. Johnson is a VERY GOOD teacher with an incredible sense of humor. Maybe the jokes were over the other reviewer's head. Mr. Johnson has so much knowledge of the US government he could run for political office, and a fine candidate he'd make. Yes, he makes you work and learn, but if that's too much for you, maybe you shouldn't attempt his course.

Needs to utilize the software available to him.

I took this course online. This was the instructors first online teaching experience. His course was planned out well and I loved the experiments incorporated into the lab. The only thing lacking in this course was the student/instructor interaction. I felt he could have used the discussion boards and put some power points in as well. The lack of interaction made it feel more like a correspondence course. Overall, I recommend this instructor with either face to face or online. I feel his second go at it would be more efficient.

Muy Bueno!

This is the greatest Spanish teacher ever! The instructor assumed that the students were familiar with higher-level mathematics and physics. This instructor is WAY over my head. Dr. Von Bergen has a pretty strong reputation on campus, but I didn't have any problems with him. The main problem I had was the use of a testbank to make the questions for exams and quizzes. The exams and quizzes were timed and I felt that not enough time was provided to look up the answers to the 'nit-picky' questions presented within testbanks. The discussion boards were not used effectively in this course. I would recommend this instructor, but not with an online course.
