STATS is one of the hardest courses for the business major, but having Dr. Liechty as a professor does not help the situation any. The use of the electronic remotes is extremely inconvenient. You might not get credit for being in class when you actually attend class, but this is the least of the problems with Dr. Liechty. Exams are near impossible to do decent on. In class reviews consist of going over simple problems which would never appear on an exam because they are too easy. There is simply a lack of effort by the professor to explain the material clearly, and give relevent examples. So, this professor is not for you if you expect to get a decent grade in a class after putting much effort into a class. On the other hand, this professor might be for you if you don't mind failing a class as long as you get candy for participating and you get to watch short clips of Star Wars in lecture.

A Very Underated Teacher

This teacher is great. This is my second class I've taken with her. I find nothing wrong with her teaching method. All the complaints you will hear are from people who don't take a proactive approach in the class room, people who just sit back and don't ask questions. She will truly make the class fun, her personality is a gift in a long day of boring lecture filled classes. Most people act as if they had a question she wouldn't answer it, or would look at them crazy. When in all actuality she is one of the most helpful teachers I have ever met. Her projects and homeworks aren't hard, and if you do find them hard she will go over it with you and allow you to hand it in late. She is a true teacher. She does have a hard time explaining her self sometime, but it's not because she doesnt want to. It's because it's hard for her to step out of what she knows and break things down simply. Many of us have the same problem explaining the things we know, understand, and love to those who don't. If you truly are having a hard time in her class, trust me when I say all you need to do is ask her and she will be more than glad to help.

Absolutely horrible

Completely unorganized, rude, makes fun of students last names or personalities. Changes the format of exams the day of the exams, takes forever to grade and can't teach the material if her life depended on it. Just assumes that we will know the material. Gives no explanation for homeworks or projects, again just expects the students to know what she is looking for. The only positive is she is hot.

An easy teacher.

If you want to pass BLAW 202, take Collins. For someone who only took pre-calc in high school , he made the transition to a class where some students had already taken calc easy enough. All lectures are done on powerpoint and notes, back exams, and review worksheets are all available online at all times. Specifically, practice exams right before midterms are exptremely helpful and indicate what is likely to be stressed on the actual exam. Grading is fair, and if you thinkt here is a mistake he is more than willing to talk to you about it. (In calc 121 I had a 3 point mistake on my test and in calc 122 a 15 point mistake-He was more than willing to correct these in my favor) Sometimes he makes cracks about Bio majors not always being the best calc students, but being a Bio major myself and getting an A in all 3 classes, don't take his comments the wrong way. I thought Calc 1 was cake walk, calc 2 very hard (be prepared to study 10+ hours for an exam) and calc 3 which was supposed to be the easiest one, was the hardest for me. Homework is assigned but not mandatory, but it's the only way you can learn the stuff so DO your homework. TA's in the MCS department are pretty helpful. Get Dr. Perline if you possibly can..He's the best.
Overall, Dr. Busby is a hard but fair proff. I recommend taking his class if you want to really understand calc (which you will need to do if you have to take physics). His lectures are generally okay, but with the powerpoint he has to turn the lights down and that is usually very condusive to sleeping. But his jokes lighten up the atmosphere and he has a very professional and friendly attitude towards all his students.

The worst prof. in all my 5 years at Drexel

Sorry to say but the guy is just a jerk. I am giving him a failing grade because he lacks any element of social skill that would allow him to deal with his students. I have witnessed him argue with students on several occasions, and on these occasions the students were justified in their arguments (usually over the way a test was graded). His test are poorly hand written. It is obvious that he does not care about teaching the course. It is obvious to me that he was hired for his research potential and not his teaching ability. A great pity for our school. Of all the professors I have dealt with in my 5 years of Drexel (C/O 2001) he was, without a doubt, the worst.

We're there because Drexel requires a lab science. This is a good class to take if you've been dreading your science requirement. Dr. House's class emphasizes the practical rather than the theoretical aspects of weather, making it very accessible. The lectures can be boring (its hard to make barometric pressure exciting), but not obscure. Important to note that attendance is a bigger part of the final grade than you might realize. His finals tend to be difficult, but they are graded on a generous curve.

A professor in his element.

I've known students who have had Dr. Stevens for World Civilization and I have had trouble reconciling their sometimes negative reactions with my own positive experience in his Latin American/Mexican History classes. I think the important difference here is that Dr. Stevens really REALLY likes Latin American and Mexican History and it shows in his teaching. Dr. Stevens generally requires a lot of outside reading, but it is interesting and appropriate (i.e. food in Mexico, marriage in colonial Mexico).

Not worth the hit your GPA will take.

I don't know how to write this review without sounding like I'm obsessed about grades, but one of the biggest problems with Dr. Piety's class is that there is no correlation between the quality of work performed or the level of learning achieved by students and the ultimate grade received. Although Dr. Piety is very knowledgeable in Philosophy and has a lot to offer students, the inability to achieve appropriate grades leaves students feeling unmotivated and apathetic.

Self Centered

Don't bother to ask for anything outside of class. He seems hard, but it you keep up by attending class and making an effort to answer questions in class you will do good. He gives quizes that he forewarns you about and sometimes lets you pick a question or two on it. Every question asked on the quizes and exams is covered in class at some time prior.
