He is NEVER organized enough to even give a solid lecture. To even finish a single thought seems to be a challenge, heck even a whole sentence. He is rude to people who ask questions and as far as we can tell shows no teaching ability at all. By halfway through the term class attendance is at 50% on a good day. this teacher is so bad we have even tried to get the class cancelled. If you see his name on a class that you want to register for RUN! Her class notes are easy to follow, although she does sometimes go a little bit too fast, yet she will slow down if asked to. The best part about her tests is that if a certain percentage of the class get one wrong, she'll throw that oen out and anyone who got it right will get a bonus! Each class she gives you a study guide. She lectures around that while showing slides of the works she is speaking of. Then, at the end of the class, she tell you speicifically which works and ideas to study for the midterm or final. Also, she gives you all th possibile term paper topics on the first day of instruction, so you can decide when to pay special attention. As long as you take notes on the works as she speaks, everything else is there, so studying is a breeze! It is important to go to every class!

Jerk and a half!

If you are registered with Bill, drop the class ASAP! This man is the biggest jerkoff ever! His tests are good, but that balances out becasue he grades on a curve and doesn't have a way to brake down the grades; he just gives you what he feels you "deserve" at the end. The other review on Bill sounds like he wrote it himself. He loves to make students into his entertainment, and he is one to belittle students of front of the class. It is nice that he does peer reviews, but what was not mentioned is that if you miss one, you get an incomplete. He will give advice, and then challenge the advice HE GAVE YOU. This class left me without the english 150 skills students who had classes with other professors, such as Tim Chamberlain, had.

Good teacher

I feel Felix is a hard but fair teacher. His lectures kept me interested for the entire lecture, which was usually three hours, and he explained each problem clearly. His exams were quite hard but he made sure that there were no suprises. As for his marking he doesn't give you much slack but you must realize that this is a finnance class and when it comes to dealing with other peoples money later on in life, you can't have even the smallest error.

Needs to get his act together.

Steve Lang was consistently late for his lectures. By consistent, I mean he was NEVER on time. He would show up 10 to 20 minutes after class began, took another 20 minutes to set up his laptop to the projector, then rush through a "lecture" in 5 minutes.

His exams would have been better if they covered material that we had covered in class. He would post reviews of what he said was going to be on an exam, then the exam had everything BUT what he would post.

I really believe that he was trying hard. I just found him always rushed and a bit like a cornered squirrel. He seemed to have too much on his plate, and was always late or a little unsure of things.

On a good note, he offered time on the weekends that students could come into the labs. Sometimes early in the morning. It's a shame he didn't spend that time in class. The time that we were actually paying for him to be available to us!

I felt this course should have been half price by the end of it.

ArGGGGGG!!!!!

Do what ever you have to to take this class with someone else. He does not know much about Visual basic programming as he always tell us "There's a bug in the program somewhere", or "I mean you have to figure the problem out".

He does not know what he has on his exercises on the web as he copied all the exercises from Richard Chechik.
Overall, he doesn't know much about computers so my suggestion is that he souldn't be teaching this course.

I learned a lot in her class that I still apply today.

When it comes time to writing papers, Lori likes to read fluff...pretty flowers, saving the whales etc. If you write something controversial, or as she describes it,'disturbing', one may find they do not do as well as they would like to in her class.

Overall, Lori is a good teacher and goes around the class to each student see how they are progressing. Every semester he gets a sea of students that have come from high school that have learned absolutely nothing about English and he is always amazed how they got their High School Diploma.

Bill does not give exams, there is approximately three essay papers and one research paper for the entire coarse. Bills big thing is, 'proof read, proof read, proof read'. Bill breaks you up into groups to let your peers evaluate your paper before you hand it in.

Bill gives the student ample time to start their papers, so do not go crying that you need extra time, you will not get it. The only exception is that your entire family has deceased, including the dog, lol. Further, when Bill says he wants the paper by noon he means it. Bill goes by the atomic clock. One minute passed noon and the doors are locked. Do not think about sliding the paper under the door, the chances are good he is sitting there and the paper could come flying back out the door, lol. At this point the reader may think, that is pretty anal retentive. Bill is trying to teach you the golden rule of survival in academia. If you learn it in his class it will make all your other classes much easier.

Bill does his best to fix all the writing errors that students have; however, it is a composition class, not a grammer class. If you are a student with a poor grasp on sentence structure and grammer, do yourself and Bill a favor, go take grade twelve English at the college first.

Ross keeps his own political views silient. You will not hear him rant and rave about how the Liberals are destroying the country. So, if you think you can appeal to his political veiws in your research paper, you will probably do yourself more harm than good. Ross also ties in the textbook with current events by bringing in newspaper articles to see what students views are. As for testing, Ross gives pre-tests, tests the student on key terms, and then tests the student on the overall big picture. Ross's exams can be a little tricky, but they are fair. He just wants to see if you know it.

Ross is always willing to go the extra mile to help his students. If you can manage to get to his office with out breaking your neck on the stairs, you'll find him with all the newspaper articles that he has saved over the years, lol.

If you find that you do not like Ross and want to take a different class you are SOL...Ross is the Political Science department, he teachs all the poli-sci classes, lol.
