He is the kind of teacher who instills a sense of wonder in even the most laid-back of students. Learning chemistry with him is a wonderful voyage of discovery. He is a teacher par excellence - one who should be giving other teachers a lesson in how to really teach. Three cheers for this brilliant scientist, extraordinary teacher and a sensitive and warm human being.

A lovely person and a good teacher

Dr. Dewadawson is a terrific person and a fine teacher. She's a little off the wall as far as her lectures go but she'll help you with the bread and butter stuff if you ask. She's always available if you need to talk and she's very helpful. Her assignments tend to take you off guard but they also keep you on your toes. Plus, she marks very fairly and gives exhaustive explanations of where you've gone wrong.

She does speak very fast but one tends to get used to it eventually just as one gets used to her rather quaint conversational style.

The best teacher ever

Mr. Mahey is the best teacher I have ever had. He doesn't treat you like an idiot but he makes sure you understand everything he says in classes and tutorials. In fact he teaches so well, very few people need a second explanation. His assignments are always fun and he will mark you on the strength of your arguments even if your opinion is poles apart from his. He's always available if you need help - be it personal or study related.

He might not be as friendly as some teachers but he's not unfriendly and he's the absolute best as far as academics go.

Currently he's on leave - he's doing his PhD at Columbia University.

Would be better if he taught theatre and not literature

Dr. Roy is a nice man and possibly a good teacher for post-graduate students.
However his assumption that everyone is as interested in literary theory as he is makes his classes very confusing even for advanced students. He teaches his version of structuralism as if it is the only way to interpret texts and dismisses any other interpretations. His tutorials have to be written according to what he thinks is right or he'll dismiss it as rubbish. It is possible to learn how to score well in his classes but it doesn't make it seem like you've learnt anything.
Also he never ever finishes the course in time for the exams.
