Now this is a tough teacher! It's funny how you don't always appreciate tough teachers when you have them, but years later you understand why they felt the need to grill you.

There's a difference between being tough, and being unfair or unclear in your instruction. Dr. Keen was always a tough one, but she was fair. She explained what had to be done and how to do it in a detailed manner. She wasn't easy on us, but looking back, I can honestly say she's been the greatest teacher I ever had. Pikeville College lost her, but she teaches at UK now.

I could go into great detail, but there's really no point. I've already boiled it down to the essentials. Students, if you're smart, you'll quit griping about how hard teachers are and just learn the material. It'll pay off in the end.
