She doesn't even answer.

I wonder why is that?

But excellent teacher.

Also, her tests didn't accurately represent what was covered in class. Forgetful about appointments, does not return homework or exams in a timely manner. Does not point out errors on corrected work. Does not limit exams to material that has been covered in class or homework. He understands the performance aspect of his work and does a great job. His one hour lecture is information packed, so taking good notes is crucial. Exams are difficult, come almost entirely from lecture and the results are available in a timely fashion. The lab section of this course is a big pain. Huge memory tasks that don't have much to do with lecture, weekly quizes that seriously impact your grade, computer simulations without enough lab computers, very time consuming.

Great guy, expects a lot

You must have a STRONG individual work ethic, and a strong background in algebra and vector calculus. Phil is extremely intelligent, and assumes all of his students are at the same level as he. Projects were long and tedious, and he is incredibly particular about wording in answers. Exams were useless, he only gave two in the entire semester, and they weren't easy by any means! Homework is the highest part of the grade, expect to work your butt off.

He expects you to read way too much per class and the papers you have to write are too complicated. It's too much work for the average student who is taking at least 12 credits. This class is one that should be taken alone if you expect to get all the reading assignments done. He apparently thinks we should all be whizzez and can handle an overload!

Awesome teacher! You have to read 5-7 pages in "The Speakers Handbook" and have one major group presentation. I highly reccommend her, even if you get "stage fright" she's willing to work with you. There's a total of 5 or 6 three to six minute speeches over the course of the semester.

Very clear lectures.
Thoroughly covers all material she tests on.
Does not like students missing lectures or field trips.
Cooking projects are fun.
Written projects are fairly easy.

His handwriting is very bad and his math often is incorrect. He is very knowledgable and would probably be a good teacher for folks with STRONG math skills. Her handwriting and speaking style made it difficult to learn (She has a thick hungarian accent). She sometimes uses odd examples in her math classes (using "smiley face" as a variable to make a point), and often gets frustrated if her students don't "get" it. She is available often outside of class, and is willing to help students who need extra help, but it's not effective when she's teaching to the "majority" of the class (The ones who do "get" it). She's a good teacher if you can understand her speaking and if you have the time after class to seek help, but she wouldn't be good for a busy student
