Dr. Sochan was well organized and provided us with ample opportunity to receive an A in this class. He allowed ample time between test, even giving study guides and review sessions. The written assignment for the class was given at the beginning, leaving most of the semester to complete it, WITH time for a rewrite. All in all a very enjoyable experiene.

Casual, Yet Perceptive

Dr. Walker is a laid-back, casual professor with edgy perception and curiosity. He challenges his students with rhetorical questions and often plays "The Devil's Advocate" to get us to think in depth. Dr. Walker incorporates technology, although I personally hated using Norton Connect, and his projects were interesting, collaborative, and, ultimately, fun. Nice personality, easy to access via email.

Disappointing Venture

Dr. DoHarris's course in women's literature was a major disappointment. We often left after 45-60 minutes (of a total 2.5 hour scheduled block) and we rarely discussed the assigned works in depth. Her personality and philosophies clashed with a few of the students in her course, driving one to tears and two others to file complaints after grades awarded were lower than expected. Perhaps this course will improve the next time it's offered, but I'll take my women's lit classes with another professor

Scholarly and Techno-Savvy

What can be said of Dr. Cook, our resident Shakespearean scholar and humanities computing guru? For starters, he's techno- and literary-savvy. He can discuss the works of Shakespeare along side the works of H.P. Lovecraft without hesitation. Dr. Cook is thorough and persistent, involving technology in every aspect of his course -- from projects and lectures to presentations and communication.

Top Notch Professional

Dr. Shea is simply a dream teacher -- she's elegant and thoughtful, and always willing to listen. Her assignments are thought-provoking and challenging, the readings equally so and more. Projects were fun and ultimately revealing. She's a thoroughly experienced teacher of composition and an inspiration to those of us who want to teach writing.
