Debra is the finest teachers at UOP. She has been completely available to students during class and in fact helped me with a problem with another teacher when I wasnt even in a class with her at the time. She is the only reason I am still taking online courses today.

Ms. Berry has a VERY high opinion of herself and excuses her severe lack of people skills by explaining that she is a highly gifted adult.
She was an okay to less than okay teacher, but her personality left a lot to be desired.

Out of all my classes so far (10), Ms. Berry was truly the best; although there were things that I found odd about her style. In studying fallacies, I believe there is an area for personal interpretation on whether it be this fallacy or that, not on all fallacies, but some. She seemed to be guided by an answer book which was unwavering. ;-)
On the final, after the class was over, another student contacted me about my grade. We compared the answers on our final, and she marked some wrong on mine that were not marked wrong on his. We compared the tests, and we had in fact taken the same test - apparently there were different answer keys for the same test ?!!?!?
Other than that, she was GREAT and I would choose her again if I had the opportunity. She was very attentive to class, unlike some other instructors have been. She is a keeper and I hope UOP realizes that!

Ms. Berry is a very conscientious instructor. She provides excellent guidance when necessary and is available almost all of the time. Her lectures are easy to understand and follow the course syllabus very well. I felt reservations about taking this class, but having completed it, I am grateful for the opportunity to have her as an instructor. She is a true professional in the field.

I truly enjoyed my class with Deborah Berry. She is witty and fun in her participation and instructions. She quickly responds to questions and is active in the classroom. She provides quick feedback. Out of all of the instructors I have had at UOP she is my favorite so far.

Unlike the previous reviewer, Deborah Berry was probably the best instructor I have taken at UOP. Her lectures were always clear and concise and she was always available for comments. She does have a quirky personality, but that helped to keep the class from getting to frazzled from the work load. She was extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter and provided frequent tie ins to the real world.

I'm not even sure if this woman is still employed with the school, however, I was unaware of this site at the time I took the class, so on the off-chance she IS still with the school, I am sending this review.
Ms. Berry and I got off on the wrong foot from the very beginning. I was one of two students not currently working at the time. The other young woman was an inspiration to all of us because she'd sustained extensive brain damage because of two car accidents she'd been in. However, on the first day of class, after initial bios were handed in, Ms. Berry saw fit to send me a private email asking me if I was aware that UOP was a school for WORKING adults.
I'd had a few classes prior to this one and none of my instructors had a problem with my lack of employment. I informed Ms. Berry of this and also made her aware of the fact that I'd signed an employment waiver and submitted a notice regarding my physical condition (which keeps me from working outside of my home) and if the school didn't have a problem with it when I enrolled, then neither should she. From that moment on, she treated me with a rather cool detachment.
During the class, server trouble kept students from being able to log on (using either Web Access OR OE) for a period of roughly a week. Ms. Berry posted a note to the folder as soon as the servers were up telling the class that she would accept all assignments due during that week-long period without penalty. However, when I turned in my paper, she informed me that she would not accept it and gave me a zero.
At the end of the five-week class, Ms. Berry asked the class to not only fill out the End of Course Survey, but to also send her a private "review" of our experience in her class. After she read my review, Ms. Berry sent me a rather sarcastic apology even after relenting and accepting the paper she'd previously given me no credit for.
There were many other problems with this woman, not the least of which was the unprofessional way that she told the class that she was thinking of going into chat rooms to look for a man. In short, don't walk...RUN from this woman.
