Nit-picky but responsive

That which was excellent and which every instructor should strive to do: He replied to every response to discussion questions, Provided feedback on homework in one week or less, Gave weekly grade reports every week, Gave final grade the day after class was over, Responded to reasonable suggestions from students by making changes in the ways he managed the class.

That which yet can be improved: This being an information technology class, I would expect at least 50% of all feedback to be on treatment and understanding of technology. Instead there were many many many instances where 100% of the feedback was on punctuation (did you know there are never ever ever to be any spaces to either side of a dash? And all dashes used should be of the same type), formatting (if the headers in the table on page three are in italics, then the headers in the totally unrelated table on page 8 should be in italics, too), and grammar. For being as picky about these things in grading, he was not so picky about the writing he posted - Coral Draw...hmmm. Spelled students' names wrong often. Was confused about the syllabus and where assignments should be posted. Many long conversations took place attempting to determing what was due and where.

That said, would I take another class from him? Probably. I have had worse experience, and having an instructor who will communicate when there is a problem is much better than the alternative.
