Sue is a freelance graphic designer and in addition to teaching graphic design she also works in the journalism department at the U of M TC. Sue has a very structured idea of what design is and if any design deviates from what she likes or what she thinks fits the mold of design, she disapproves. When it comes to projects she will review a project and tell a student what she thinks is good and bad about their design and what they need to do to make the design successful. When the student follows the directions she gives, it usually results in a worse grade.

This woman should not be teaching as her credibility as a professor is extremely debateable. She cannot pronounce the word "similarity" which is amazing as it is the only design principle she really cares about. Her utter disregard for other design principles and elements is astounding. Her way of design and her opinions are the only things that matter; her way is the right and only method, making her comparable to Paul Rand and his stubborn and ludicrious way of thinking. I came into the graphic design program knowing nothing about Illustrator, Photoshop, and Quark and I feel that she did not even need to be at class as the most education she gave me was how to set up the printer system. I dreaded class days as I did not ever feel like having her throw my ideas in my face and rant and rave about "simuuuularity," as she likes to say. Sources say that she is a fan of stealing her student's work and using it as her own.
On the superficial side, she wears the same purple shirt every time I see her. She was enthusiastic about the class getting together and having "Donut Days," days in which we would spend our money to buy the class and more importantly her, donuts and coffee.
