Patty Seleski

Prof. Seleski knows how a lecture should be done. Most teachers i have had do one of two things that i hate:

1. lecture non-stop without asking for student input.

2. Put a bunch of information directly from the book(s) on the powerpoint or overhead and read it to the class verbatim, which shows that they dont really have a whole lot to contribute to the lecture because they dont really know the subject.

Patty is guilty of neither of these bad habits and it makes this somewhat boring subject bearable. All of her lectures showed that she truly understood the subject and the books were just support material. But she is not an easy teacher. She pushes her students to really think critically, and expects you to put some pride into your work. She is not for the slackers -We wrote 3 papers for a total of about 15 pages- we were supposed to write 4 papers but she was kind enough to realize that students have other classes to write for and dropped it. Other than that she was the best lecturer out of the 4 teachers i had. If you gotta take a history course then i would suggest Patty Seleski.
