Solon Blundell

I took Math840 with Mr. Blundell in the Spring of '05. At times he was disorganized and a little out of touch with how much homework he was giving. However, I believe my class was the first one he had tried a thick homework packet on and a friend who took the same class last semester said that he'd scaled back on this. The homework packet was a drag but it was also a great opportunity to bring up a low class average as he graded them and let the students redo pages with low percentages. Overall, I enjoyed his class. He is a patient and kind instructor who seems to care about the students. I hadn't had a math class in over 10 years and my history with math was poor. In high school I got Ds and Fs. I worked hard in Mr. Blundell's class and wound up with an A.

I LOVE mr. blundell!!!! he is the nicest and the most patient teacher. math is so hard for me and i had anxiety about taking this class. mr. blundell is super patient and will not move on until he feels certain that everyone gets it. he will also allow you to re-take all your quizzes which really helped me because i had an opportunity to learn from my mistakes. he is always available to meet his students and tutor them one-on-one. this is probably a boring and slow class for those who already are good at math, but for those of you who have a hard time - take blundell!! he is the best! before a started the class i was just hoping for a passing grade, but i got a B+ (89%) thanks to blundell, and i am not intimidated by algebra anymore.

Mr. Fred is a very nice guy. He encourage students to focus on class by allowing everyone to participate in the board by solving mathematical problems. I can say that he is 100% boring but his class is very easy if your try to listen even if it so boring. He added all the students who wish to add in our class. The test are not easy and not hard if you study and review your lectures. The grading system is very very fair for all. You can not fail the class if you do your homework, particpiate and have a few absences. He is so nice so I recommend him to take Math 80!
