Fumiko Grant

The first class I took at CCSF is Japanese 1A with Grant-sensei in 1998. I have since transferred to UC Davis and spent two years teaching English in Japan. She got me interested in Japanese, a language I am still studying now.

She's energetic and has a positive attitude in class. Her lessons are clear and well-paced. The different exercises we do in and out of class are not monotonous and really contribute to a deeper understanding of the grammar points.

She is the best Japanese teacher on campus.

fumiko grant is a marvelous teacher. but, she's also very tough. hers is not a class to coast through. if you're not ready for LOTS of work, consider signing up for japanese 1a instead of 1. if you can make it through the semester in this class, you'll have a newfound respect for yourself and your classmates.

Granto Sensei is the best teacher that i have ever met in CCSF. She is a good teacher and good person. First she knows how to increase your interest in Japanese and Japanese culture as well. She is funny, nice, and very easy-going. You will not only learn Japanese, but also have a lot of fun at her class. As long as you attend classes , do the homework, you will be fine. for sure, getting an A requires effort. Granto Sensei wa Daisuki desu neeeee~~~~

Grant sensei is the best teacher that i have ever had! She makes learning japanese so much fun. At first i was scared to take japanese because i heard it was really hard. But its actually pretty easy! I am actually thinking about taking japanese 2! Her personality is so warm and friendly. If you have any kind of problems with anything, she always does her best to help you out. She always does her best to review what was covered in the class before. Her tests are pretty easy. As long as you go to class everyday, you are guaranteed at least a "C".
