Easy, Boring, Uneducational class.

The good: Only two exams - Midterm & Final. Both were in-class writing assignments/essays for which the outline had to be written at home, prior to. Neither were necessarily relevant to the lectures or reading. In other words: It was SUPER easy to b.s. your way through the "exams". Homework was also easy; just a paragraph or two per week. We only had to buy one small book, although he "suggested" we buy a general American History textbook. Few did.

The bad: It was VERY difficult to sit through this man's painfully boring and biased lectures. If you're just in it for the grade, or don't really care or know about politics then it won't bother you as much as it did me. I actually wanted to learn something, not hear one man's depressing version of history. He's EXTREMELY liberal, politically, and constantly forces his opinions into his lectures, even when it is utterly unwarranted and irrelevant.

a knowledgeable teacher but painfully boring

Prof. Montesano is a nice enough guy and is very knowledgeable in history, but he's just not a person who's easy to listen to for three hours straight. If a teacher has a three hour long class in which he only lectures, he must have better speaking skills. He is a very fair grader.
