Mr. Nuttall has lots of experience in the field that he is teaching. To me it is very important, because it is easier to understand the material on real life examples (Allan gives plenty of them on each lecture) then to simply read the book full of dry terminology. He is teaching for pleasure and it is very important as well - I prefer professors who love their jobs and are eager to share their knowledge with students - Mr. Nuttall is a good example of such a teacher. As far as Quizzes - read the book and review all the questions after each chapter and you will be fine. He is fair and generous when it comes to grading and gives lots of chances for students who struggle to improve their grades. I'm planning to take his Mortgage Brokerage class at Skyline. Unfortunately he is not teaching it at CCSF.

Allan P. Nuttall is an A+ professor in potential, but tends to riff anecdotally when answering questions in class. His authority and knowledge is impressive, but for a second term real estate student I sometimes found myself adrift. Having no experience in the field like many of the other students, I could have kept up on the lectures, rather than depending mostly on the book, if he highlighted basic principles after each anecdotal tangent. If Mr. Nuttall would offer rote instruction on the basics of each chapter, those of us who get lost in the specifics of case studies, could regain our focus by hearing a summary of the facts and take notes on the fundamentals. As it turned out, I felt that class was enjoyable but more difficult to understand than it should have been. Mr. Nuttall just might be too talented and prolific a businessman to give beginners what they at intervals need- the basics by rote. By just adding that extra step everybody could get with the program, not just those who have already purchased a home. While I received an A, the tests were way too easy and I failed my real estate exam. Overall, this is just minor criticism for a very worthy member of the city college faculty.
