Times Up!

I really enjoyed the clarity of Mrs. Petersons lectures. She was very easy to understand. She writes and explains things very clearly.

The only problem I had with this class was the lack of time offered to take her exams. I found that she gave us an hour, even less sometimes and for the amount of work she puts on the exams, it was very hard to finish them. Nearly half of the class were often still sitting down taking the exams when she would call time. For those of you who struggle, even the slightest, watch out. Don't fall behind.

Mrs. Peterson is a great instructor to learn the material from, but if you get stressed under very limited time to complete exams, then you may want to take a different class.

One of the best math teachers I have ever had

Ms. Peterson is one of the best math teachers I have ever had, if not *the* best. I am someone who has a very hard time with math and needs to work very hard to do well. She made it really easy to do well. Here's why:

- Her lectures are excellent. You can tell she really gives her approach to a concept serious thought. She made some very tricky concepts make perfect sense.

- She is very fair in the way that she tests. Even when I made a huge mistake, if she saw that I had the concept or a piece of the concept right, she gave partial to almost full credit.

- She gives a "quick check" every now and then to gauge where the class is, but they were easy if you did some of the homework from the week before. Like any math class, doing the homework (or at least part of it) was important in getting ready for the exams.

- There were ways to get extra credit in the class even if you didn't do very well on the tests.

- She was incredibly organized and her time management was excellent. She gave us a chart of all that we would cover in the next few weeks including all homework problems ahead of time. Really helpful, even if I didn't do all of the homework, which she collects at the end of the semester.

- She really seemed to care that we understood the concepts and had a genuine interest in us succeeding at a level that I rarely see in a teacher. Especially a math teacher!

I highly recommend taking one of her classes. Finding an excellent math teacher is like striking gold.
