Ms.Roberts is the best instructor that I have ever had at CCSF Ocean Campus. I was in her ESL 140 in the fall of 2007. That was my first semester, and I had a lot of difficulties on that course. She always offered help and was happy to help out whenever I had difficulties with my assignments or questions. At the beginning, I was afraid of her due to her strict teaching style, but I found her kindness and enthusiasm were underconvered by her strictness. Overall, she was a pretty nice person who loved teaching and cared about her students. When I came to her for help, she would make her time to discuss with me and explain to me the problems that I had and to give guideline and advice to help to solve the problems. Also, although I wasn't in her class last semster, and I came to her for help, she was delighted to help me out and told me to come when I needed. She gave a lot of homework, but she wrote a lot of comments and feedback on the paper which were very helpful when she handed it back. At the end of that semseter with her, I could see the improvement from my homework as the semster was passing. I could clearly see my essaies were improving by rewriting drafts. Everytime, when I looked back the first and the last drafts of each essay assignment that she gave, I could easily see the improvement. I really learned a lot from her. If I hadn't had her for ESL 140, I wouldn't have had easy time on ESL 150 and have passed it with a good grade easily. Although Ms. Roberts's class was hard, it was worth to take it. By the end of the semster, I could easily see my hard work was paid off. If you were really dying to learn English, I strongly recommended her classes, and she would prepare you well for your next level. I could promise you that you would learn lots more than any class at the same level if you could make it to the end. I would take her class agian if I could.

Dear all students, I totally understand whatever you folks concern about. However, before you make any comments and complain, you should ask yourself about your English Level. Based on what I read about your comments and reviews, I have found a lot of typical English mistakes. If as you folks mentioned about your hard work and effort you put into, those mistakes should be undercovered on your comments and reviews. Furthermore, I believe you folks get used to chat on ICQ or our chatting software. It is because I found a lot of "Modern Internet English" in your comments and reviews. Be honest, I do not want to look down your folks, but, the truth tells me that you folks are not ready for ESL 150. This is my personal advice and opinion. On the other hand, Ms. Roberts needs to learn how to be a responsilbe instructor when she received her paychecks every month. She needs to think what she NEED TO and HAVE TO do for her students. She cannot "GUESS" or "ASSUME" her students' effort and writing skills. She should understand the difficulties for those ESL students facing. Please take a class and be a responsible instructor instead of receiving SHAME class review at all.

ms. roberts is a incompenent teacher. she does not know how to teach.she comes to class everyday and sits on the table and talks whatever she likes to talk about.sometimes, we have problems to understand her lecture. also, she does not have any standards of grading homework.she probably grades the homework depends on her mood. she always says that you--the students are not at 150 level, your grammar is just horrible...something like that. it really hurts our--students feelings.she lets us rewrite our in and out class essays, but she never ever raises our grades if we get progress in the essays. whether we do not rewrite essay, that is automatic F.once u get into her class, you will lose all your confidence;that is really terrible.those are my experiences in her class. my advice is:never ever sign up for her class, you will not pass it unless your level has already been higher than 150 or even higher!!!

I recommend the students to choose another teacher. Do not enroll in her class! At the start of the semester her class were more than 40 students, now they're down to 20. Its hard to survive in her class. She's tough! You should study well to pass in her class. If you enroll in her class, don't take this subject for granted. If you are a true student, who really studies hard then you might make it to the end.
