Andrea Sanelli

She was a very good teacher, however we had to focus on one topic for a great deal of the course and a lot of us (the students) got bored with the topic. We had felt we had said everything there was to say on the topic. I told her after the final how a lot of us left and she started to verbally attack me. She belittled me and said I didn't try hard enough (mind you, I consistenly got better with every paper in the class) and she told me that "school isn't for you". What right does any teacher have to tell a student that school isn't for them. A teacher should be encouraging learning and instead she tore it down.

She was a really good teacher and made things fun but don't give her any negative feedback or she'll attack!

You know the typical story about the unlikely hero, and the struggles ahead. By the end of the saga he/she looks back and sees that all the effort paid off. Well she will make you do your research, work hard @ it, but her organization really helps. Her class has such an structure that takes you step by step through the course work, without making you feel like she's holding yopur hand. She's challenging to say the least. prepare to do your work thoroughly if you want an A. Personality wise she's also very friendly, and as long as you act maturily and not like a high school brat, you should be able to talk to her like, well, an accesible friendly teacher.Take her you won't regret it.

Like many others say it depends on the age of the person reviewing to get a real idea of the class. I'm a typical 19 year old college student and here is my take on the class. Shes a real nice caring person, but sometimes i felt like she treated us lke 4th graders. Her quizzes are easy and she usual hints that shes going to give one the day before. She makes asignments harder as we progress into the class. Her essays are long in my opinion and the topics shes uses are pretty interetsing. I didnt like the amount of outside work she gave, but overall a good class and she really wants you to learn.

andrea sanelli is the best english professor i've ever had. she's easy to like and her assignments are very challenging. i feel like i learned a lot from this class. she also made herself available to look over UC personal statements. my only complaint is that i wasn't too thrilled with the authors she picked for us to respond to.

Ms. Sanelli is one of the best (English) teachers I've had since I've attended CCSF. She has a lot of enthusiasm for the course, and she's really friendly. English 40 required a good amount of reading and class discussions (seeing as it's ADVANCED composition), and she tries her best to answer any questions about her assignments. She also gives a lot of feedback on essays and is usually available during her office hours (if she isn't, she probably has a good reason!). If you're wondering, she's also understanding on in-class writing (i.e. midterm and final) because she knows that it's all improvised and timed. I also had Ms. Sanelli for 1A, and after taking 40, my opinions of her have only gotten better!

Great Teacher but very demanding. If you want to get a good grade you have to play by her rules. Really cares for her students and is very communicative.

Sanelli rocks. shes tough but shes fair. she is very personable and very progressive when it comes to her subject. she doesnt teach the same material semester after semester. she is extremely open to hearing our opinions, unlike other teachers at city that don't know that we, the students, are entitled to opinions that differ from theirs. i love sanelli because you can tell she loves her job and that she is learning just like us. thats what makes an excellent teacher!

Sanelli is an okay person. She seems a little edgey,though. She may seem real nice, but gets butt-hurt real easy! Personally, her style kinda bugs me because she tries to teach as if we were still in high school. For example she'd prefer to know why you need to leave or why you didn't show up. That's my business, so if you're like me don't take her.
