Michelle Steiglitz

Michele is the best teacher in the CCSF. I enjoyed both her lectures and her challenging and unique assignments. She is very profesional and inspirational. She also has a great passion for teaching. I've learned a lot of stuff from her. I took BCST119 and BCST140 Video Productoion. From My experiences with her, I noticed that she was very fair and always available to students. In my case, she wrote a nice recomendation letter for me about a year after I had taken her class. She didn't have to do this for me but her actions show she cares about students whether they are currently taking her class or not. When I took her classes I worked hard and Michele held me accountable for on my work and assignments. I received an A in her class and I put in the hard work to show for it. I never noticed or witnessed any incidences of favoritism. It was pleasure for me to take two classes of hers. I strongly recommend you to take her class. You won't regret it!!

Michelle is an excellent teacher. It is difficult to work effectively with a class consisting of widely different skill levels and knowledge. Michelle is excellent at this, and very patient. The projects she assigns are well-thought out and tailored for those who are completely new - while at the same time leaving room for those who are more advanced to expand their abilities. I enjoyed being in the class, learned a lot and appreciated the atomoshere of fun and genuine interest in her subject that Michelle brings to class.

I took classes with Michele twice, once for the BCST 119 class and again for the AVID editing class. I had an excellent experience both times. She inspired me so much during BCST 119 that I created a "Ken Burns" type video piece that was a finalist in a local film festival. The AVID class was also excellent and again Michelle inspired us to create excellent work both for the PSA and the final project. My PSA was of the Broadcast department (nothing like having material close at hand) and was eventually shown to CCSF Chancellor Day to demonstrate the skills students learn in the Broadcasting department. This is way beyond what I expect from an instructor.

Also, I am a male (and know a bit about multimedia) and never felt threatened or confronted by Michelle. This is simply not true. There were many, many productive dicussions and exercises during both classes. Michele always encouraged participation from everybody in the class and was generous with her time one-on-one helping students with exercises.

See for yourself, take a class with her for the first week, I guarantee you won't drop!

This teachers performance is no less than excellent. She exceeds the common teacher in classroom performance and activities. Her ability to understand and see things from the students perspective is something that no teacher should be without. I strongly recommend experiencing a class with this teacher because she is truly amazing.
