Encouraging and Accessible Instructor

I took Dr. Thiry's online Internet Basics & Beginning HTML class (CNIT 131) and found him to be an accessible and encouraging instructor. Some of the assignments in the course were a bit difficult, but generally the workload was manageable. The discussion board in this online class was very active, and other students contributed a lot of useful information. Note that despite the title of the course, only two weeks of the semester are dedicated to HTML coding. Some students indicated in postings that they were disappointed by this. CNIT 131 is more of a survey of the Internet, covering topics such as the history of the Internet, browsers, ftp, rss, and electronic commerce.

CNIT 131 Basic HTML online

This is an absolutely fun as well as challenging class. When you take an online class the other students help you as well as the teacher. In a pinch I've learned to write to the teacher at their ccsf email address to get the quickest answers. He helped me out and we covered a lot of ground in this class! I give him an A+ The midterm though isn't given enough time to complete and I fear the Final won't be either. Everything else is fair, fun and stimulating!
