Mr. Wille is a good guy who realizes that accounting is not the most thrilling subject in the world. He does his best to make the class entertaining regardless. He is always ready with a funny story or a real world example, which often made the material much more interesting.
However, there were some major problems for me in taking his class that may be an issue for you.
1) His tests are very difficult. They are multiple choice, so there is no partial or extra credit anywhere. The final is so hard (which he doesn't write) that to get an "A" overall, you must do well on his tests, which is not an easy thing to do. He does curve them, however.
2) He goes over homework in class, but does not give credit for it, so you stand on tests alone.
3) In order to truly understand the material (which you must in order to pass the difficult tests) you *must* attend the lecture every day. His policy of "no entry to late students" made me miss several key lectures when I arrived one minute too late. This seemed an unusual and unfair quirk. Unless you are extremely prompt, this may pose a big problem.
4) His time management could use improvement. At the end of the semester, we had very little time to go over the hardest two chapters and were tested on them one week before the final.
Like I said, Mr. Wille is a great lecturer if a bit fast, and he did make accounting much more enjoyable than I had expected. If the four points above are not a problem for you, then I highly recommend his class.

When I first met him, I thought that he was very strict, and I was semi-correct. After the first exam (which consists of 20 multiple choice questions that are similarly derived from the final exam) most of the class didn't do so well, he considered about 'curving' the class. He's taught plenty of ACCT50 classes (a class before ACCT1) and this is his first time teaching ACCT1. We have 3 in-class exams excluding the final, homework is assigned and corrected but not graded, attendance is NOT required although if you miss getting into class before 10 after the hour, the door is closed, and you CANNOT enter. And once you leave, you stay out for the whole class and cannot return (even if you leave your things there). His lectures are great, in my point of view since he ties in the materials from the book with his real life situations and examples (first and not second standpoint). Lectures definitely correspond to the book so make sure to finish reading the chapter before you go to class (for BEST results) since he talks sooo fast, that you need to have most of the CONCEPTS (hint!) down before so you can understand it further. I haven't been to office hours yet, so there's nothing to say there, no projects either.
So here's the skim through version: Exams (A) He's creating these exams so that it mimics the final which gives us more practice. He usually gives open ended questins for ACCT50 but now they are X choice due to the Final requirements. They are mostly comphrensive, some are problem solving. Handwriting (A) He uses the overhead projective mostly for problems and answers. Whatever he writes on the board is usually important, but NOT as important as what he says at the same moment, so grasp the 'concept' not everything he writes down 'word for word' Homework (n/o) He assigns us homework problems and goes over it during class (he corrects it when the chapter is over). Do this for your own good, so you can tie in the concepts with the problem solving. They are not graded but ARE definitely helpful to studying and understanding what's going to be on the exam. Lectures (A+) I love how he brings in examples from HIS life (not someone else's) and adds a twist of humor in it. Alongside with that, he actually lectures at a pace where the students can handle what's tossed at us. He starts 10 after the HOUR and closes his door, so get in before then. He's got an atomic clock, so you better watch out! =P Outside CLass Availability (n/o) Haven't gone to his office hours, but he seems approachable. Personality (A+) Like I said earlier, he's just like a student in a grown-up body. He speaks in slang terms! "How are ya'll doin' today?" =P ::chuckles:: It makes me laugh all the time. Projects (n/o) None assigned Speaking Skills (A-) Good info, good humor, but talks too fast. Take precautions here!
