Good Teacher

Professor Yee is a good teacher and is very knowledgeable about Psychology. It's easy to get an A if you attend class and take notes. She writes everything you need to know on the board during her lectures, which makes it easy. But, in terms of the tests, you really need to understand the information and how to apply the different theories. Each test (except the final) has two or three essay questions where you have to do this. The book is really not even necessary to be honest. Everything she puts on the test is from the lectures and she has a study guide for each test.

Showed so much promise. Disappointing in all.

In general, I never have problems with teachersand if there even existed a problem, I have always had professors who communicated wonderfully. Until I met Jill Yee, from general psychology 1. Since the beginning of her class, I have had the top grades, despite missing one more class than the allotted three. Since it was my first semester out of high school and in a college setting, I expected so much more from the lecturesbut what she covers is superficialnothing you couldnt read out of a high school book (literally, her texts were used at a high school in San Francisco); and for extremely basic ideas, she gets distracted so easily, its a farce. I could Google one of her topics in class and come up with her lectures from About.comits ridiculous.

One would not need to work so hard to get an A, and she is so self-serving and smug, I dont appreciate her lectures. They do nothing to clarify subjects, yet she makes it mandatory to come to every class20 minutes out of an hour and thirty normally spent on prepping and pausing and organizing for her. A waste of time.

It is true that many people drop the course (even though it is completely inexplicable because one could NEVER fall behind if everything she talks about is in the book) but I perceive it is mainly because of her policy of dropping down a grade simply because of missed classes. Even if the student is probably more attentive in class and comprehends much more of the work than the average slacker. Its useless.

I could see this class going so much more smoothly and infinite times more quickly with a more competent teacher.

Good teacher even if soft spoken

I took Jill Yee during the Spring Semester and found her to be a rather great teacher for the most part. She won't make the class interesting by any means, but she will help you learn if you attend her class. She is rather soft spoken for the most part and all her exams will be over stuff she has covered in the course. If you miss a day you should get the notes from someone in the course with you. They are key to her course.

She is hard to reach outside of the classroom environment, but she will answer your questions in the classroom. You will need to be prepared to listen about children's psychology in the General Psyc course because she does teach this at the campus also. She once spoke to me in the hallway and that is when I learned that she does have a personality. I was surprised and amazed. But it was a good shock. I find out what kinda person she really is in that one conversation. She definently is someone I would take again.

Great professor, but has a temper.

Mrs. Yee is a great professor, and she knows the subject very well, yet she has a temper. She tends to over react ( when people doesn't have homework or are late). Half of the time she is also late.

Very good teacher

I recommend this teacher not because she is easy, but because she can educate you. She can come off rather crude (and sometimes frustrated) from time to time but her intentions are good. She answered any questions I had and went into detail. She doesn't assign homework and her lectures are all you really need to know - I bought the psychology book and never really had to use it - so take down a lot of notes (whatever she writes on the board). She is a hard but fair grader - the tests she give isn't anything to scoff at (it is multiple choice and some short answer/essay questions). Many people ended up dropping the class because they were going to fail, so keep note of that, but if you want to learn, her class will make sure of it (assuming you're paying attention). If you're planning to major in psychology, her class the class to take.

I would definitely recommend! easy teacher

Jill is the kind of teacher that is fair and at the same time she teaches you something. Her class is very easy. No hw, no projects, and you only have to take notes [ if you want to pass her exams I suggest you do so ]. I wouldn't recommend buying the psych. book for her class because when I was in her class I hardly use it.

If you take her class I would recommend writing every single thing she writes on the blackboard because her exams are solely based on her lecture.

She grades you based on your exam. I forgot if she had 2 or 3 exams, I think its 3. So whatever you get on those exams, she averages it out and that's your final grade.

The only probelm is that when she talks...its kind of boring. So you really have to pay attention.
