You will like it if you are responsible

taking mr. Armedariz in the summer section was a nice experience becuase it made me be more responsible. you don't need to be smart to past his class all you need is to be responsible and give everything you have to learn the material. He is a nice teacher but yes his testes are kind of hard to understand because he hands write the testes. Overall, he is a cool teacher and you would have fun.

Beware: Armendariz WILL NOT Prepare You for MATH 103!!

If you take elementary algebra with this instructor, be prepared for no syllabus, no homework assignments, no homework handed in, different test formats every test, and no clue where you stand in the class. Furthermore, be prepared for an instructor who makes a lot of jokes.

Joaquin Armendariz's lectures are confusing. Moreover, if you request a certain grading style (i.e., CR/NC versus letter grade), he may decide to change the grading style at the end of the semester. If you wish to speak with him, make sure you do so before or after class--immediately--because his office hours are nonexistent and he is barely ever on campus between classes.

Armendariz has a great personality and knows how to relate to students, which is a plus. However, if you're a serious-minded math student, DO NOT take ANY math class with him. The biggest disappointment is that Armendariz hands out a "sketchy" syllabus which does not give a thorough explanation of sections assigned and homework problems to be done.

If you want a great personality and more confusion added to your algebra class, Armendariz could be your instructor.
