Mendez is a rare teacher. He's serious about the subject, but also extremely patient and encouraging. Tests are straightforward, and there is little homework (aside from time spent in the lab). His accent may be difficult to understand at first, but I quickly got used to it. Mendez has a wonderful personality and great sense of humor, a real love of the language and of teaching. A very rewarding class.

Overall, Mendez is a really cool guy. Your job as a student is to SHOW UP and participate. His classes are really fun, as long as you want to learn. He goes over everything that will be on the test, and gives you a similar practice test ahead of time. He understands that learning a foreign language can be difficult, and he'll do pretty much anything to see you succeed in it. I would recommend him for anyone who is just learning a foreign language.

You will have to participate in this class. He hates it if you are late, but overall he is a nice guy. He explains everything and takes questions. Good sense of humor, and wants his students to succeed...if you don't he does take it personally. He gives a practice test before every test, so it's easy to do well if you do this and study vocab. There are a few suprises on his tests, but not many compared to most teachers. Most of tests come straight from the workbook.
