If you are ever confused about which classes you need to take at College of Marin for transferring or graduation, make an appointment with Bessie Ng-Jung at COM Counseling department. Youll get the best academic advice from Bessie who will guide you to reach your goal.
Selecting proper classes for any major can be very challenge; Bessie knows very well which classes you should take for all majors. One of the Business department counselors at Sonoma State University told me that I was one of few students who prepared so well for transferring that make the registration process much easier than others. I wouldn't have done so well without Bessies helpful guidance during the years at COM. I highly recommend her as your number one choice for academic advice at College of Marin.

As many others here have so meticulously covered, Bessie is one of the College of Marin's finest assets. She knows the ins and outs of transferring, especially to the UC/CSU system. If you are ever unsure of the information she gives you about transferring, simply ask her if she is sure, and she will go out of her way to check the most current possible information against what she already has. She goes above and beyond the call of duty for the students who contact her.
When I decided to attend the College of Marin, I was immediately recommended by numerous acquaintances to talk to Bessie. My first correspondences with Bessie were over e-mail. It was not until much later that I even talked to her in person. She is very easy to reach and talk with, either online or offline. There is no reason not to utilize the knowledge of Bessie!

I agree with everyone else who has reviewed Bessie here. She is absolutely the best counselor at COM. She constantly goes above and beyond the call of duty, always with a smile. It is so refreshing to deal with someone who actually gets things done and cares about your progress. She will never "pass the buck" along to someone else. This lady gets the job done. Make an appointment with her, you want this woman on your side.

It has been 8 years now and I am still in touch with my good friend and counselor Bessie. Where would I be without her? Probably still at the College of Marin trying to figure out what classes I need and can test out of in order to transfer to one of the universities in California. Until I met Bessie, my experience with the counseling department was awful. Bessie was a breath of fresh air. This is a woman who is passionate about her job and goes to great lengths to remain up to date on all the requirements for transfer to California's universities and state colleges. When Bessie did not have an answer to one of my questions (and that was rare) she was quick to track it down. Bessie seems to love her job and the interactions she has with her students. She is well organized and manages her schedule well, but she will make time outside of her regular hours if furthur help is needed. I tried all of the counselors at the College of Marin, and Bessie stands head and shoulders above the rest.
Bessie was with me throughout my transfer to Berkeley, my graduation from Berkeley and she is still here for me today. Do I still consider her my counselor? You bet I do. But the line between counselor and friend is now blurred. She is there to lend an ear, offer advice or just talk about our life experiences.

Just go see her and you'll figure out on your own why everyone loves her. Do yourself and your career a favor, no matter who you are, and see her for guidance.
I don't think there is a person out there who cares more about you (perhaps your parents, but that is debatable).
If you have any questions (or even if you don't), go see her now!

Bessie is one of the main reasons why I am at UC Berkeley today. Without her, I would have been a lost college student. She has a wealth of knowledge about practically everything and she will help you anyway that she can. She is a very popular counselor because she comes highly recommended so make sure and make appointments way in advance. If you want to transfer to UC Berkeley, Bessie holds the key for your future. Use it!

If you want to transfer to the university of your choice, get advice from the most experienced counselor at the College of Marin AND make a very good friend in the process, I suggest you go and pay a visit to Bessie Ng-Jung.
I credit her for all my success not just at College of Marin but at Berkeley as well. Without her help and encouragement, I would never have made it..she was there for me every step of the way and went that extra mile everytime I needed her to.
One hour with her was never enough because she always made sure that I got everything I needed and would not let me leave until she felt that she had done enough. I loved how she had all these blank sheets of paper and wrote all the info you needed on them just so you wouldn't have to do it yourself. I can go on and on about how wonderful Bessie is but I dont think my words will be enough.
Bessie, I think about you constantly at CAL and am eternally grateful because without you, I wouldn't even be there....
Thank you for everything.

The first day you walk into the College of Marin, whether you're lost or know what you want to major in, I cannot emphasis enough, see Bessie. The College doesn't pay her enough for the EXTENDED office hours she keeps. Sometimes, this counselor will work eight to nine-hour days in order to affirm that every student transfers to the college/university of their choice.
I have worked with several counselors--all top notch--since my first days at the College over five years ago. The difference between the counselors I have seen and Bessie (which sets Bessie apart) is that Bessie will go the extra mile in any one counseling appointment she conducts with ALL of her students.
If you need information immediately, Ng-Jung will get on the phone with the Dean of Arts and Sciences at UC Berkeley, to make sure your success comes first. Need a rush delivery of a transcript request in two days to a deadline and can't pay cash? Bessie will put herself on the line and get your official transcript(s) from another school using a credit card (provided you can pay her cash).
Bessie will always be in touch with EVERY instructor you ever have to ensure you pass all the classes you need to transfer. And my favorite part: Bessie can multi-task, doing twenty things at once while--never for a minute--forget about you and your academic needs. She does all this--and more--with a consistent and genuine smile.
The minute you walk through the doors of College of Marin, Bessie Ng-Jung's counseling office is your first priority. You will like the way you feel and your academic goals and path will be obvious with her outstanding service to you--I GUARANTEE THIS!!!!
A+ for Bessie Ng-Jung!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
