A. Joe Ritchie

Dr. Ritchie is a good teacher. He knows his subject very well and can usually explain it clearly to a beginner. It seems like it takes him a while to warm up to new students, but he really is a nice guy with a good sense of humor. Definitely one of the better teachers at Marin. His syllabus is clear and he follows it. Homework is 80% of your grade, so plan on spending a lot of time on your computer. The tests are open book, but if you are new to Access software you can still be tripped up on a test with all the technical details and jargon, so do the reading, and also get familiar with the book's index before the test so you can look details up quickly.
