Mr. Danielson is my counselor, thus the reason for selecting this class. He recommended philosophy 100, but he honestly said it was way too much reading for my schedule.
This guy is one of the most animated teachers in that i've taken. He keeps the lectures pretty interesting, but i've heard that he tells the same jokes from class to class. He doesn't write many notes on the board but the notes he writes are sometimes hard to read, but you can make it out. A LOT OF HANDOUTS. Not many notes to take in his class. His homeworks are based on lectures and are a few paragraphs.
There are 3 exams, one per book. The first book is Ishmael. He gives it to you to write in class. Open note and open book. i got a C but on the rewrite i got a B+/A-. 2nd exam was on Brave New World. This book was really boring, but there is a video to go with it, but not the most accuarte. This exam was take home and two weeks were given to write it....again i got a B+/A- 3rd exam... Your choice of book btwn biotech century, mcdonaldization of society (i chose this book, lot of facts and examples) and another book i forget....again this was takehome
there is a group project, but it was very easy. It is 2-3 people and you talk for 15 minutes. You choose the topic and we did it after spring break.
There is a journal assignment that you grade yourself on and thats the grade you get.
