Elaine Cassel

Elaine Cassel could make a snail look interesting in several different aspects. I have taken several college courses but this one had to be one of the most demanding (homework) but also the most interesting and fun! Elaine makes all the courses I have taken interesting by having everyone particpate and encourage one another. I would recommend this course to EVERYONE!

The Group Dynamics course was fun to take, especially since many of the people in class knew one another before the course started. This made Elaine's job easier and more difficult as far as the "group dynamics" go. In one respect it was easier because most of us had no qualms about participating. However, on the other hand, many of us had already made "first impressions" and that may have been barriers to learning.

Elaine made this class interesting and it went by very quickly.

There was a fair amount of writing for this class (12 or so exercises from the book, 2 movie reviews and 2 papers/presentations) and some research. There were a number of in-class group assignments that illustrated the class topics. Also the book was excellent (especially buying it online for 1/2 of the bookstore price!)
