Oh, please. Deborah is dogmatic and an complete tyrant in the department. You'll be just fine if you agree with everything she says, but be careful not to have (gasp!) your own opinions, because you'll just get bad grades and condescending "oh you just don't get it" glances and comments from her.
If you're planning on being a classic psychologist, you'll probably love her. But if you're interested in deconstructing psychology -- maybe even critiquing it! -- watch out. You won't find much support from Deborah.

Deborah Winter is the most effective and caring professor from whom I ever learned. She is the person most responsible for cementing my resolve to become a psychologist (I now have a doctorate in clinical psychology myself). It's been almost a decade since I was at Whitman, but I know she is still teaching there and I thought I'd kick off Whitman's area on teacherreview.com with an entry.
