Although I am a pretty good student, I was terrified of DS412. Luckily I had the honor of taking this course with Dr. Jamie Eng. She made the class fun, interesting, and almost stress-free.

Overall, she is an excellent professor: she is approachable and helpful; her lectures are clear, organized, and they definitely reflect her knowledge of the material.

There are two exams in the class (a mid-term and a final), there are also pop quizzes and online homework assignments. The online homework is a lot of work, but it will definitely give you practice for the exams. The only thing I would change about doing the homework would be to do it on weekly basis rather than trying to get it all done right before it was due.

Her grading policy is awesome, she will assign the highest grade of the following three methods: 1. Exam scores only 2. Exam and pop quiz scores only 3. Exam and pop quiz scores, plus online homework.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Eng for DS412.
