WILLIAM ROSS

Take this class in the Fall or Summer semesters! Dr. Ross is a great teacher, very disciplined, organized, and knowledgeable of the subject. His one fault is trying to be a hillbilly with a Phd. He was raised in Alabama, near the space center. Everyone around him was an aerospace engineer. He uses slang (i.e. "y'all") in his writings. I felt it really didn't work, especially in the tests. The class gets broken into groups. These groups have to negotiate a labor contract with another set of student groups. We negotiated with another sectionof the same class. In the past, groups have negotiated with groups in other schools, and even groups on other continents (Australia). We used threaded email in Blackboard. Assignements were also posted on Blackboard. You are graded on how well you meet your objectives. You also have to write a paper on a labor novel, with additional research of internet and other sources. The tests aren't too hard if you prepare. His questions cover every portion of his lectures. You apply the things you learn in the class in your email negotiations. I was very surprised at how much fun this class was, because I had heard horror stories about it. There is a certain amount of work involved, but that is how it is supposed to be, isn't it?
