Marla is a really encouraging and supportive teacher. She always has something positive and motivational to say to a student. She goes out her way to help you if you need it and will respond to emails promptly and coherently. Her tragic flaw is that her lectures, especially when accompanied by slides, tend to skim over important details and go too quickly: it seems like you are getting the information because she isn't giving it much weight and then when you try to apply it you can be really lost. She tends to drone abit in lectures. But she is always there to help clean up the errors. Her lab exams can be tricky but it is not her goal to make it tough jsut to prove that you know you stuff so learn it and you will be fine.

This introductory course is basically an analysis of websites and their effectiveness, along with some basic HTML website creation and final project. Marla is not known for her dynamic lecture style, but she is consistent and her marking is fair and prompt. Exams can be surprisingly difficult. However, it is still fairly easy to get a good mark in this course.

Marla isn't much of a public speaker, and her lectures can drag on. However, she does suppliment her lectures with very good power point slide shows and handouts that make the concepts easy to learn.
The lab assignments in this course were very helpful. Marla marks her labs very quickly, so you have them available to learn from for the next lab.
Our midterm was brutal, but she eased up a little on the final. Some concepts in this course are hard enough to learn (eg: normalization), but even harder to test. I think it is in part the nature of this course that makes the exams difficult, not Marla.

Marla is organized, fair, and always available for help. Labs and tests are marked quickly and fairly. Lectures can seem a little long sometimes, not a dynamic speaker, but provides all required material for the course.
