Get ready to memorize too much stuff.

I love the passion of Dr. Weil in Astrononmy, and the knowledge she has in this subject is excellent, but at times it is an overload. I took this course as an easy course to bring up my GPA and that is not going to happen. I was surprised by the degree of complexity this course offers, in contrast to SF State's astronomy which my girl friend took, she said it was easy, I saw the homeworks they were a piece of cake, and so that is why I took astronomy and was in trouble when I saw how Weil instructs. This is a course you need to take if the rest of your classes are lightweight this class is pretty intense even though she does not require the students to use the actual mathematics required for it. I have the mid-term study sheet she handed out there are about 200 terms and principles ones must understand. Regarding grading she is very tough in that regard, and because of it I lost points because I labeled a diagram with the word apart from the area she wanted it, even though I drew an arrow to what I meant I was indicating, and when I talked to her about it she stated that she wanted it directly next to the object, which I though was unfair since I did understand the principle of the question. Overall she is great, I would just warn that you need to understand the concepts well, and buy a notebook just for this class get ready to take notes and draw diagrams every class.
