you will definitely become a better writer

This instructor is not the one to pick if you want an easy "A". But if you want to become a better writer, prepare to be able to compete on a UC level, and expand your viewpoint, he is outstanding. Very high energy, and willing to tackle uncomfortable issues in American society, definitely keeps it real. He believes in basic "literacy of the law" for his class, and you will gain a good understanding of important law cases. Don't ever be late with an assignment, though, he is an ex-marine who is pretty strict about deadlines. He can come across as very intimidating at first, due to his intensity, but the longer you are in his class, you can see that it is because he really cares about his students. After you take his English 1A class, you will feel very confident about yourself as a writer.

I found him to be very fair, supersmart, and it doesn't hurt the learning experience that he is buff and good looking!

All in all, one of the best professors I have had at City College.
