About CourseRevews
What is CourseReviews?
CourseReviews is a free resource for students to post reviews of their professors and courses.
Why was CourseReviews created?
Towards the end of my undergraduate college program at the University of Maryland, as seniorites started kicking in, I was suddenly awakened by Dr. Gannon and his experimental class on security. Would would have thought that the dean of the computer science department would host one of the most intellectually stimulating and entertaining classes of my college career? I needed to tell everybody about Dr. Gannon and his class, especially students outside of the Computer Science Department who would surely never know to sign up for his amazing class. How would I broadcast to students about Dr. Gannon and his class? I'd do what everybody else was doing at the time: I would make a web site. I had just learned while working at Microsoft how to make a database-driven dynamic web site, so I decided to test my skills to build a site where students not just in my department, or even my school - but every school in the world - could talk about the best professors they have had. Sadly Dr. Gannon passed away soon after my graduation and before I was able to tell him about the web site he inspired. I still regret not mentioning it to him when I saw him for the last time at my graduation ceremony.
