Provides a class that anyone can enjoy and learn from.

Note: If you do not like volunteer work, register for her Non-Service Learning course. Her Service Learning Course requires 20 hours of Volunteer work outside of Normal Programs at CCSF(Help homeless, help kids, teens, help seniors, etc.). Not that big of a hassle if you are willing, or find a program you can enjoy.

My only complaint about the class was we didn't really use two of the three books required for the class, The Norton Sampler(NS) and the Sentence Combining Workbook(SC). We used about 4 articles from NS, about 20 pages of that ~200 pg book. For the SC we only did about 4 Units, ~20 pgs/150+pg. Borrow these books if possible.

Attendance, just attend class and forget about it. She might talk to you if you miss to many days, or come late too often.

She follows her syllabus pretty closely.

This is a group based class, lots of "Face a partner and discuss with him/her", and "get into groups of X and brainstorm", with a few "form a circle"

The bases of the class is 6 Essays(3-5 pages each.), which is standard at ccsf I think. The first essay you will need to base your work off of your previous class experiences, but the second and so on essays can be based off of the comments she provides in your previous essay, and she provides good comments that help you on your next essay. Missing Peer Review = -1 grade IE: B to C, so have something for peer review day. You will know when PR day is way before it happens, she provides a Class Schedule for each essay assignment, and she reminds you.

The second half of the class I had a fairly good book to read and write 2 essays about. The Book was interesting, and the Essay Topics were fairly easy to write about.

Her Grading Policy I would have to say is lenient, I thought I did worse than the grade I got on my Midterm In class essay, but the comments helped on my next essay.

She tries to get to know her students, tries to get people involved in the Class.

Overall, if you want an enjoyable, yet educational Engl 93 course, take hers.

93 or 94 is a prereq for 96.
