Dorsey Armstrong

I am very sincere when I give Dr. Armstrong the highest marks I can give. I've never had a professor at Purdue that has shown the level of enthusiasm and committment to a student's learning that Dr. Armstrong has shown. This class required alot of courage for me to take as an undergrad but I knew that with Dr. Armstrong teaching the class it would be manageable.

Do not be fooled though, this class is extremely difficult and involves over 30 hours of homework a week, but its worth it. Dr. Armstrong teaches the class not so you can memorize facts and regurgitate them on an exam, she teaches so that you will *learn* things and be able to apply them later on. Because of this her exams are extremely straight-forward and test you on the material that has been covered in class. There are no tricks or anything like that.

If you ever get the chance to take a class offered by Dr. Armstrong, TAKE IT! She is one of the best professors Purdue has to offer.

Dr. Armstrong is an awesome professor and always has great enthusiasm for what she is teaching. She is very knowledgeable about her field and imparts the information very well. She is also a VERY generous grader and almost always accepts things late, even going so far as to add extra assignments to make sure everyone gets theirs done. She has always said that her philosophy is to make sure that students learn something and not that they can regurgitate what she has just told her.

Dr. Armstrong is one of the best professors at Purdue and everyone should jump at the chance to get to take a class with her.

Dr. Armstrong has done a wonderful job establishing her expectations and educating the class on how to meet those expectations. Not only has she created a good learning environment, but she does it with humor and knowledge.

However I do believe that the papers could have been graded even more maticulously. I thought I did worse on some than the grade I was given...maybe that is because of her extremely compassionate personality. Also I wish that we were able to write the papers on more than one text. Just a thought...otherwise the class was beneficial and worth my money...Dr. Armstrong is great =)

Dr. Armstrong is an amazing professor. She is a wonderful addition to Purdue's English department. Although some of her homeworks were lengthy and tedious, she was easily accesible for help with them. Throughout the semester she displayed how extremely knowledgeable and educated she is in her field. Her exams were challenging but never tricky. She also provides her students with ample opportunities to earn extra credit. I would highly recommend taking a class with Dr. Armstrong.

I've learned so much in this class! Dr.Armstrong is very professional and she's a good speaker. She takes the material very seriously, and she's also fun and hillarious.

Dr. Armstrong is a wonderful professor. Throughout the class she was able to bring out the best performance in me. She has excellent speaking skills and does a great job of involving everyone in the class. If you ever get the opportunity to take a class from her, DO take it.
