Not a "Grade-A" Professor

This is Cheryl's first year at UMF (2001). She taught 3rd grade for 9 years then she taught at Perdue. This would explain why she talks to us (the class) like we're eight years old, yet gives So much homework that we can't complete assignments in ANY other class!

I don't feel as though I'm learning anything in her class that pertains on how to teach my future students science. Her course is filled with "busy work," meaningless projects, and so many school teaching visits that it seems like I'm taking Practicum all over again.

Cheryl expects assignments to be turned in on time, yet many times does not return them to us in a timely manner--citing her "dissertation" as an excuse everytime. Double standard??

Cheryl has a very pleasant personality and IS available to help out her students, however, we are all so discouraged by her courseload (therefore angry at her), that most of us won't bother to see her outside of class.

P.S. - There were FIVE--count 'em, FIVE required texts for this class! That is a lot of money to spend on textbooks for a class at UMF--especially when most of them seem useless/unwarranted.
